Lakshmi Pooja (Sanskrit: लक्ष्मी पूजन, IAST: Lakṣmī Pūjāna), is a Hindu strict celebration that falls on Amavasya (new moon day) of Krishna Paksha (Dim fortnight) in the Vikram Samvat Hindu schedule month of Ashwin, on the third day of Deepawali and is considered as the fundamental happy day of Deepawali.

As per legend, Lakshmi, the goddess of riches and ruler Vishnu’s better half, visits her lovers and offers endowments and favors to every one of them. To invite the Goddess, enthusiasts clean their homes, finish them with luxury and lights, and get ready sweet treats and indulgences as contributions. Enthusiasts accept the more joyful Lakshmi is with the visit, the more she favors the family with wellbeing and riches. In Bengal Lokkhi Pujo or Laxmi puja is performed on Sharada Purnima day ,the full moon day following Vijaya Dashami. This puja is otherwise called Kojagori Lokkhi pujo. Ladies love Maa Laxmi at night in the wake of cleaning their home and finishing the floor of their homes with alpona.
