The Saundarya Lahari (Sanskrit: सौन्दर्यलहरी) signifying “The floods of Magnificence” is a popular abstract work in Sanskrit accepted to be composed by sage Adi Shankara.[1] Some accept the initial segment “Ananda Lahari” was carved on mount Meru by Ganesha himself (or by Pushpadanta).[2] Sage Gaudapada, the educator of Shankar’s instructor Govinda Bhagavadpada, retained the compositions of Pushpadanta which was conveyed down to Adi Shankara. Its hundred and three shlokas (refrains) praise the magnificence, elegance and benevolence of Goddess Parvati/Dakshayani, partner of Shiva. W. Norman Earthy colored made an interpretation of it to English which was distributed as volume 43 of the Harvard Oriental Arrangement in 1958
